About Us

Woodlands METRO is a vibrant and growing city centre church, meeting in the heart of Bristol. We launched back in September 2015, as an offshoot of Woodlands Church.

Since then we've weathered pandemic, venue fire and other assorted ups and downs. But we're just as passionate as ever to serve our city and create church you can bring your friend to.

All kinds of people are part of Metro but most of us fit into the 18 to 35 age bracket, with a large number of students and urban professionals. We don't make any assumptions about a person's faith - or lack of it. Instead, we create experiences that work for everyone.

We meet each Sunday at Bristol Cathedral School. Our Morning Service starts at 10.30am and our Evening Service at 6pm. Both last around 80 minutes or so. Expect an engaging talk, worship led by a band, and other creative bits and bobs.

Our Morning Service has provision for children. We've just launched it, so it's still developing and growing. If you're planning to bring your chileren for a visit, then let us know so we can make sure they're well taken care of.

The feel is informal and inclusive and we aim for everything that we do to be 'real, relevant and refreshing'. In other words, it's got to be authentic, it's got to relate to all of life and it's got to bring you into God's presence.

Check us out and let us know how you find us.

What Alpha offers, and what is attracting thousands of people, is permission, rare in secular culture, to discuss the big questions - life and death and their meaning."
